I bought this book and it was absolutely amazing I couldn't put it down fir a second. Zerro is heartless ruthless killer. He has no qualms about murdering entire families of men, women and children. But underneath is a broken damaged man who trust no one relies on no one after the murder of his most trusted family member. He comes to Bree's home to collect a debt that her father made but decides to use her as payment for the debt. His first course is to ruin her, shame her, make her is property with no lack of feeling once so ever. But after spending time with her and seeing the true courageousness inside her he feels that I cant be apart from her from the second. Bree by her own rights holds her head high and though she is afraid of Zerro she wishes to protect her dad at all cost and offers herself as the chip needed to save her fathers life even after his mistakes. I admire Bree for her spirit and I love Zerro he is raw and masculine and sexy. The sex is amazing hot, compelling. I couldn't get enough of this book I look forward to more from J.L. black in the near future. :)

WOW is all I can say. When JL said dark and mafia ... I was begging to read my 2 favorites in one!!!
This book has it all a hot mafia king Zerro and a strong female. A plot that keeps you wanting to watch your own back. And of course some smoking alpha male smexy times.
I would for sure recommend this author and can't wait for book 2!!

I'm sitting here completely withdrawn and speechless. There are so many emotions running through me right now, my mind is a fog... a jumble of thoughts.

First, I want to thank J.L. Beck for taking a chance on me and allowing me to once again, read one of her books early. You have turned a new leaf with this one, your writing was excellent! Even reading this unedited, I have to say that Indebted is a complete 180 in comparison to Bittersweet Revenge.

Now to Indebted....

I don't know where to even begin with trying to explain and form the words after reading this book. I'm teary eyed and my head hurts, from merely processing everything I've read.

Alzerro King won my heart from the very first page. Witnessing this small boy, afraid and lost, hiding. Seeing him being brave after hearing how they've killed his mother, gutted me.

He couldn't save her...

From that moment on, he vowed to get revenge for her death. Losing his mother shaped him into the dark predator that he would become. Fast forward the years and Alzerro is this feared Kingpin who would kill in the blink of an eye.

Is it twisted to say that I love him? YES,but I know deep down under all the bloodshed he's caused, there's still that small boy, who's lost and alone. He grew up in the brutal world that is the Mafia. He had to no guidance or love.

He became what he was taught.

He became the product of his family traditions.

Bree, lives a normal life.

She's a college student and she knows her path. She's lost her mother to cancer and the only person she has left in the world, is her father. When she returns back home and witnesses the destruction, Bree never imagined her father would be stuck owing money to a Mafia King.

Bree knows she must sacrifice herself in order to save the only person she has in the world.....

She is owned by Alzerro King and there is no escaping her fate.

I don't want to spoil any moment of this book because it's a rough journey and it's a dark story.

There's no fluff or gentleness.

There's just blood, sweat, and tears.

You really need to have an open mind to understand every emotion you will feel. If you're one of those people who only like reading fluffy HEAs, then this story is not for you.

It's gritty, toxic, violent, but among the violence and killings, love blooms.

But it's betrayal and lies that will end those rare moments of happiness for Alzerro & Bree *sniff*.

Indebted left me anxious, betrayed, angry, upset, hurt, lost, & empty. I am but a shell, waiting for book 2 after being utterly consumed by book 1 *sigh*.

SO, should you read this book? H3ll, yeah you should ;) #Bow2TheKing.
If your a fan of Karina Halle's artists and dark angel series this set is for you! A dark romance, this is part one. It is short but the second book is regular length. A surprise ending that will leave you searching for the second book! Taken, from the only family she knows to pay a debt. Can you seek revenge or fall for your capture? Is he not who his says? This is the beginning to a great dark romance.
This book ends on a cliffie, an expected ending for me, but I don't have the urge to continue this story.

I found the storyline and writing style to be unsophisticated. The female protagonist's mood swings left me with whiplash and in all honesty I could not understand why the 'mafia King' was so taken with her.

I found myself questioning the plot on several occasions - her mothers death was it not long before her father got into death where she made her promise to look after her dad or not long after she was born?

A fair attempt at editing and formatting of the book has been made though some word choices were dubious.

Not my thing but could see others might enjoy it.
Loved it and read it till I couldn't read no more! This is the dark erotica I appreciate. It's not too dark and there is also romance hot consensual sex. The king is so sexy I'd do exactly what Bree did lol. He's bossy sexy as hell alpha and all male and Bree the beautiful strong virgin. These two have me looking forward to the next book definitely! Over all well written just a few typos but honestly it's so good you hardly notice.
