Next we read about Lorenza, a 20 year old friend of Jack who wins the TOP CHEF award. This is Europe's highest honor. Little does she realize that last year's winner threatens her. The Mafia family becomes involved in two different ways. Murder and kidnapping..
The Pope is very ill but is determined to speak to the United Nations. Alexandra the Nobel prize winner is called in to see if she can help cure the pope.
The Turkish government becomes involved when an old Turkish policeman turns up after being thought dead and helps to take down IS. A son of one of the Sultans of old escapes death and turns out to be a relative of the new TOP CHEF of Europe
The author has always managed to tell or write a great story but this time he out does himself. He starts out with THE FORGOTTEN PAINTING, which is free, and then adds parts from that book and his three other books. What a spectacular ending, he even closes out characters that we thought didn't need finishing. He closes out all of Jack Rogan's adventures but please oh please, give us more of Jack's stories.

I picked this book up because of a recommended sale item. The author proved to me within the first chapter of this one book that I want to go back and read the whole series. The author is clear, concise, and yet draws you along through descriptions that truly show you the world he has built. I’m not sure if my reading was affected by this being my first book, but I began the book slightly confused by the many “main” characters introduced. However, each character was beguiling and interesting in their own right. I had to have more of each story! To actually watch the characters’ narratives twist together throughout was a treat.
I think that what I loved most was the author’s readability. He was grammatically correct, without any major errors that drew me out of the story. He gave just as much information as was needed, nothing more. He “[gave his book] a soul; it becomes an extension of [him].”
As someone who is a lifelong reader, I could not be more pleased with this book, and I can’t wait to see what he gets up to next!
This is not a book to be gobbled up rapidly, rather a complex, compelling study that should be read slowly and carefully. This tale based in reality has everything; mystery, murder, cuisine, culture, science, adventure, Cardinals, Popes, Arabian princes, terrorists, heroes, villains, gangsters and international mayhem. Wow.. take time to peruse it all. It is so beautifully written and so filled with much to understand.
Gabriel Farago has written a fabulous book. It starts out in ancient times when a whole family is "supposed" to be wiped out to protect the ruler. However 1 child escapes and the book literally escalates from there with Jack Rogan being asked to set things right by a priest friend. A stolen painting during the great War turns into the past mixing with the future. Food and medical science, terrorism and front line medical care create a spell binding thriller that is tough to put down.
Gabriel Farago has done it again! I have been looking forward to the next book in this mind-blowing series. Jack Rogan is so much better than Indiana Jones and Crocodile Dundee but a wonderful combination of both and then some. Jack is a likable rascal, completely ready to tackle the next challenge with his curiosity for truth. The author has enough background that the series could be standalone but are so much enjoyable read in order. I was hooked on the first book and am always on the edge of my seat – it’s a medical thriller, history, mystery, espionage, betrayal, evil and goodness and some humor. I received an advanced reader copy of the Final Quest and am giving my honest review. Professor K The Final Quest is the icing on the cake to follow The Hidden Genes of Professor K.
This is a very good, detailed and action filled book. It is actually three story lines and are connected to each other. Although I feel all the stories could have been told as a different book, the book shows how seeming unrelated events are actually linked together, sometimes even across the expanse of time or place. The book raised questions about ethics, brought in science and the search for cures, and the fight against evil all in one book.

I enjoyed the book very much. I have to admit that I didn't actually start the series at the beginning but with The Forgotten Painting. I now want to go back to the beginning and catch up on the things mentioned as having happened before. The book is a stand alone book. I wasn't lost by not having read the previous books. It just sparked my interest in going back to the beginning.

Jack Rogan makes a return in this book, as does his girlfriend the brilliant scientist named Alexandra Delacroix, Isis, Tristan and the rest of the gang. Profess K makes cameo appearances in spirit, if not in actuality. There are also some new key figures introduced.

This book has it all top chefs, Mafioso, assassinations, kidnappings and a very sick Pope.

This is a high action, high adventure thriller. Jack is at his best ferreting out clues and following the trail. An exciting chase through several countries keeps the reader enthralled. There are plenty of subplots and tangents all over the place, which makes the reading more exciting and interesting.

The thing I love about Gabriel Farago’s novels is that the reader gets an in-depth lesson in history, and in this book, also in science. The portion of the story of the Turkish influence was very interesting as were all the little tidbits inserted throughout the book. Very good!
